Improve the voice

The audio uses your device's built-in Japanese voices, so quality varies. One-time fixes:

  • macOS: System Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → System Voice → Manage Voices… → Japanese → download Otoya (Enhanced) and Kyoko (Enhanced).
  • Windows: Settings → Time & Language → Speech → Manage voices → Add voices → Japanese.
  • iOS / iPadOS: Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices → Japanese → download an enhanced voice.
  • Android: Install or update Japanese voice data for Google Speech Services.

The highlighted word in the sentence is the verb doing the work. Casual vs. polite often looks identical in English — the register only shows in the Japanese, which is exactly the point.
